Madeline: Blaine tutor

Certified Tutor

I am in my senior year at Binghamton University, and will soon have a dual degree in English and music performance. My English major is concentrated in creative writing, so in addition to possessing the skills gained in literature studies, I am a strong writer and an imaginative thinker. In my music performance major, I study opera. I am also the vocalist for Binghamton's jazz ensemble, and sing in a funk/pop band.

The next step for me is to go to graduate school for teaching! I joined Varsity Tutors to kickstart my experience in working with numerous, eager learners.

I believe that it is the job of a teacher to help a student realize their potential, which is boundless. The best teachers are also mentors and role models. My goal is to inspire my students not only to learn about the world around them, but to engage in self-discovery. One high school teacher of mine is the sole reason I uncovered my passion for writing, and I cannot imagine my life any other way. Tutors, similarly, have the power to get to know who they work with, and guide them to learn and grow as both academics and people.

Outside of Academia, I can be found cooking and baking nutritious dishes. I also love to watch movies, be outside, and travel to new places.
