I am very excited to work as a tutor for Varsity Tutoring! I am a dedicated and life-long learner who loves to share my knowledge and passion for learning with everyone. I have had a passion specifically for science for as long as I can remember and chose chemistry as a junior in high school as my favorite! I received my Bachelor of Science degree as well as my Single Subject teaching credential in Chemistry and have gained valuable laboratory skills and various research experiences. In addition to my six years of full time classroom teaching experience, I have gained additional experience in successful teaching strategies through the completion of my Masters of Arts in Teaching program. My main goal is to help my students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. With those skills, they will learn how to solve problems and to take charge of their own learning. My strategies of increasing understanding stem from building on what they know and encouraging thinking about where they may get lost. This is to assess my student's progress throughout while also holding them accountable for mastering their subject of study. In this continuously changing world of ours, it is important to understand how to effectively communicate and collaborate with others, use evidence to justify conclusions, and critically think about how to solve real-world problems!
