I am a scientist, art educator and an observer. Since I was young, I found it difficult to separate science and art, nor my interest in both, as they truly seem to be connected.

I have two college degrees that include a BS in Secondary Science Education endorsed in Biology, Life Science, Geology and Earth Science. I studied Curriculum Planning, Instructional Design and Presentation Techniques for my second degree for an MA in Education.

After almost eleven years teaching young students, I decided to utilize my art talents to become a Scientific Illustrator for major textbook and magazine titles. I started out as a board illustrator, then moved into digital art utilizing Adobe products to produce illustration, layout and design.

I am a creative communicator and planner. Professionally, I continue to be a scientific illustrator and graphic artist. I teach Adobe Creative Suite classes at the University of New Mexico. I have always enjoyed all aspects of teaching, and helping people learn is one of my greatest joys.

In my position as a Varsity Tutors, I hope to help students better understand subjects that they may need assistance or to raise their skills in learning difficult subjects. I think you'll find me to be knowledgable, patient, and a teacher that can help you understand the basics, to better understand the more difficult aspects involved in your subject and see the entire picture as a whole.
