I am excited to work for Varsity Tutors. I feel confident that my medical, teaching and public health background with extensive experience and skills will make me a good fit for helping your student.

I finished medical school in Pakistan in 2014. During my medical school, I also shifted gears toward research to learn the basics. I worked with the Department of Community Health at Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi. My responsibilities included patient interviews for data gathering across multiple hospitals, organizing, coding and generation of the database. It was involved in various epidemiological studies, such as thalassemia and premarital screening, the role of primary care physicians in the public-private mix tuberculosis DOTS program, etc.

With emerging needs for innovative strategies to combat and conquer the health inequalities and reducing the burden of diseases, my interest grew further in learning and consolidating my knowledge towards public health. After completing one year of an internship, I moved to the United States to pursue a Masters in Public health at the University of Michigan. I graduated from the University of Michigan in December 2018.

During my Masters, I consolidated my work as a Research Scholar at Wayne State University, Hurley Medical Center and the University of Michigan where I had the opportunity to use the strategies and skills learned during my masters. During my research, I participated in many research studies and mastered my skills in data gathering, developing custom survey for recruiting participants, organize and analyzed data using Statistical software, grants writing, Institutional Review Board submission, literature review using scientific search engine and wrote manuscripts and abstracts, create presentations and also had the privilege of presenting my work through poster presentations at local and national conferences.

I like teaching and enhancing my own knowledge by teaching and working with the students and I consolidated my work working as instructor at Liaquat Medical College in Pakistan and Adjunct faculty at South College in Tennessee. I am deeply committed to teaching and public health research. I believe what separates me is my hard work, relevant skills and qualifications and firm dedication towards epidemiology along with a strong medical background. The work we do is vital for humanity.
