Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Phi Beta Kappa in English Literature from the Honors Scholar Program with a certificate in Creative Writing. Currently, I am a doctoral student and fellow in English Literature at Brown University, where my research interests lie broadly in twentieth-century American literature and culture, narrative theory, and writing pedagogy.

I have worked as a tutor in reading comprehension, composition, and editing for four years in various not-for-profit programs and at the University of Connecticut, including as a reading tutor for the nonprofit Connectikids, as a classroom assistant in English/Composition courses at a local high school, and as a Writing Center tutor and tutor in-residence at a local library for the entirety of my academic career. The majority of work I tutor in writing varies vastly, spanning from helping students brainstorm a short-length research paper to manuscript consultation for students enrolled in intermediate creative writing courses. In sum, I find complementing creative practice with critical analysis ideally fosters intellectual growth. I encourage creative thinking (as well as writing) and a positive attitude to ensure students flourish.

In my free time, I'm an avid creative writer, Game of Thrones enthusiast, and all-around fangirl. My specializations lie in Writing and Literature.
