Ethan: Leesburg tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in Genetics and plan to pursue a career in marine science education. My experience as an educator began in high school, during which I tutored fellow students through the National Honors Society at Charleston County School of the Arts. I also had the privilege of volunteering for an after-school literacy program with local students from grades K-5 who were struggling in their academics. I began working for Varsity Tutors in 2019, and have since had the pleasure of helping students in both high school and college-level biology, genetics, general chemistry, and organic chemistry.
As a tutor and a former student, I understand that academics can present an array of challenging obstacles that can sometimes be difficult to overcome. I like to make these obstacles a little more manageable by providing students with the help they need to succeed. Whether they are visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic learners, I can tailor my methods with the necessary instruction, examples, and practice problems to improve their command of the subject matter. I also make it a point to ensure my students receive appropriate levels of flexibility, patience, and understanding in order to foster a positive learning environment. I love building relationships with people through education, and I cannot wait to share my knowledge and passion to help students reach their goals!

In my spare time, I love drawing and painting, among other forms of visual art. I also enjoy playing the guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums, and hope to become a successful songwriter and recording artist. When I am not making art or music, you can often find me playing and studying intermediate-level chess.
