Certified Tutor

I am a New York State Certified Teacher. I am an alumni of SUNY Albany where I received my Bachelor's Degree in English Studies. Further, I am a recent graduate of Saint Joseph's College. It is there that I received a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I became certified to teach Birth to Second Grade General and Special Education. Within the last few years I have taught at various grade levels. I taught at a Preschool for students with Autism, and currently teach at the Kindergarten, First and Second grade levels. Furthermore, I spent time mentoring and tutoring students at risk of dropping out of school.
As a teacher, I found it to be a natural instinct to want to tutor. Being in a classroom daily, I see how easy it is for students to "slip through the cracks" and not receive the one-on-one attention they need or would benefit from. My goal is to help students stay on track, excel and enjoy learning as much as I do. As someone who studied English in College, I am proficient in essay writing as well as taking a part texts to decode their meanings. More so, I enjoy tutoring in Early Childhood subjects such as Mathematics, Reading, Writing, and study skills/organization.
My goal is to work with each student in a way they learn best. I enjoy incorporating games, kinesthetic activities, and songs into my learning. I find when a student is actively engaged they are learning more to their capabilities. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, fishing, and being outdoors.
