I'm a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology, with minors in Business and Chemistry.

At the U of I, I helped my friends and classmates tackle complex biology problems in various cell biology, molecular biology and introductory biochemistry topics such as cellular respiration, DNA replication, cell division, glycolysis and transport across the plasma membrane.

Most of my classmates asked for my help through an online platform called StudyRoom. Through StudyRoom, people would post biology concepts that they did not understand and problems that they were stuck with. Using my own drawings, and short animations and videos available through our textbook and related websites, I was able to break down complex (and sometimes confusing!) biology concepts into bite-size chunks. Thus, through my efforts at StudyRoom, I was awarded Student of The Week 15 times.

Now, as a Varsity Tutors tutor, I want to help high school and college students the same way I helped my fellow classmates in college. Using my prior tutoring experience and background as a molecular and cellular biology major, I will utilize all the available resources I have to help my students understand complex concepts, solve practice problems on these concepts, ace their exams and get an A in their biology courses!
