Certified Tutor
Hello! My name is Tim and I can't wait to help you with your goals in French, English, Art History, Literature, or Social Studies! I am currently a graduate student at UPenn studying ancient art history and archaeology, but my professional background is in curatorial research with the Milwaukee Art Museum, where I worked to organize exhibitions related to early European Art (Ancient Greco-Roman up to the Renaissance). I graduated from NYU in 2014 with a degree in International Politics, where I attended with a creative writing scholarship and eventually specialized in foreign languages. I have lived and studied in both Paris (Sorbonne III) and Shanghai (East China Normal University). I received my training in ancient languages from CUNY's Institute for the Study of Latin and Greek, the most intensive program of its kind, from which I graduated with honors.* *Languages, literature, history, and writing are the great loves of my life. If I become your tutor, I hope to share them with you! My style is relaxed and conversational, but I like to remain "on-call" to help my students via email if they need guidance outside of our normal sessions. I also enjoy the process of keeping in touch with parents, and my clients have benefited greatly from my habit of giving detailed reports. From my time as a museum tour guide, I have experience teaching people of all ages- from kindergarten through university. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
