Hi, my name is Allison, and I am a fifth year Ph. D. candidate in the chemistry department at the University of Florida. I have worked with high school and college level chemistry students, and I am willing to meet you where you are at in chemistry. If you are willing to work to learn it, I will match that effort to help you learn it. When I work with students I prefer to work in smaller groups, so that I can better address your specific concerns and areas where you want help. After having been a TA for three years and tutoring for five, I have learned that there are many ways to present a concept, and some ways of explaining things make more sense than others to some people. I am flexible with how I present information and will work to do it in a way that maximizes your ability to understand the material. I have also gained a series of tips and tricks that help to keep easily confused information straight. As a tutor I want it to be enjoyable, but I want you to learn also, so I typically have a focused but relaxed tutoring environment.
