Certified Tutor

I am a former middle school teacher of 20 years. I taught sixth grade, and although I taught all academic subjects, language arts and math are my passions. Working with students one-on-one, helping them with areas of difficulty or enriching their understanding of a topic or concept has always been the most rewarding part of teaching for me. I love learning as much as I love teaching. I am also an editor for a learning science company, so I have a good eye for details and a love of language!

I teach yoga and meditation, and can incorporate breathing and visualization techniques to help reduce anxiety and gain greater focus. My other specialties include test preparation, project planning, organization, and study skills.

I am extremely patient and have a calm, easy-going personality. I appreciate a good sense of humor, and I teach from the heart.

When I'm not working, you might find me taking a walk with my little chihuahua, Toro, reading, doing aerial silks, or enjoying a sunny day outside.
