I earned my AA from Bard College at seventeen years of age, and am on course to obtain my BS in Literary Studies (Writing concentration) from the New School. I read with the eye of a writer and the love of an academic, appreciating every student's work and effort while understanding the process a work needs to undergo. My favorite subjects to tutor include Creative Writing, English, and Literature, as well as common application essays, SAT essays, reading comprehension, and study skills. I tutor Creative Writing with a focus on voice, sound, tone, story arc, characterization, and skilled, creative ways to reveal information. I tutor essay writing by guiding students in their analysis of texts and information, ensuring a thoughtful and innovative conveyance of their analysis by paying particular attention to construction. I am a lifelong lover of reading and am a devoted writer. As a patient and careful listener, I work well with shy students and help them to find and solidify their voice as a writer. I am grateful to be able to share my enthusiasm with students, to discover what makes each student excited to read and write, to work with their individuality, and to help it take them as far as they can go.
