I believe that it's possible to grasp any subject if you have the resolve to keep trying. I want to help students see real improvement, so they are confident in achieving scores they aspire for, and are proud of their work. While I have studied a range of subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring in English language, literature, writing, and art. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Maryland, where I majored in English language and literature. In college, I took many art electives and since then I have used that experience to work as an artist.
I was a teacher's assistant for English business writing in college and I peer tutored core subjects in high school. When I was a teacher's assistant, students who attended my office hours or arranged for study sessions always improved their grades. Students could expect to go from earning a D or C in the class to a B or A when they used the methods taught for improvement in the course. I always enjoyed working on a one-on-one basis from the course material and directly working on the assignments with them, or in small study sessions where we could hold discussion groups. I enjoy reading and writing, jogging, visiting art museums, and spending time with my family and friends.
