Profile:
I have home-schooled my children (grades K-12) and tutored other children at the same time. Many parents came to me when their child needed to be taught using a different approach. For example: using recipes to understand fractions.
I have tutored people when they were preparing to take the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test.
Everyone I worked with has gone on to reach their goals whether they wanted to go onto college or a vocational school or into a business.
While taking classes to earn my Bachelor's degree (completed March 2017), I was a peer mentor. The purpose of the mentoring program was to help students with study skills, organization, writing papers, and any other areas where they needed some extra one-on-one time. Most students needed help navigating the library, researching, vocabulary, grammar and other parts of the paper writing process. The schools I went to most recently used the APA writing guidelines and formatting for papers.
