I began to love reading and writing at a young age. My greatest joy comes from sharing this passion with others. Too often these subjects are overlooked, and children who struggle with them are left behind. As an MFA in Writing student at Sarah Lawrence College, I am dedicated to inspiring others to love and excel in reading and writing. Working with low income students in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, I was inspired to learn how creative and talented these young students were when given the opportunity to succeed. I was similarly amazed when I led a writing workshop for the homeless population of Skid Row through the non-profit LAMP. I've always been a strong believer in the power of education, and I believe learning should be something we enjoy, not dread. I hope to bring this sense of joy and excitement into every tutoring session with students.
