I am a Univeristy of Maryland Baltimore County graduate with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in English. I also obtained my Master of Public Policy from University of Maryland College Park and am licensed in the area of finance. I will be tutoring the subjects English, government/politics and computer programs in the Google or Microsoft suite (i.e. google: doc, sheets; microsoft: powerpoint, excel, word).
I know that everyone is capable of learning when the material "speaks the same lanugage." We'll work to bridge where you are currently with the subjects you're learning. There's usually just a small tweak that can be made to get students to understand concepts and be able to apply them!
I approach my tutoring holistically by checking in with the student around their current struggles (about 5 minutes) before launching into the task at hand. It's important to remember that learning can be emotional and air those feelings before the session begins.
