Ranjit: Marietta tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a senior at George Washington University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a double minor in Human Anatomy and Public Health. I am on the pre-med track, and have taken all of the prerequisite courses. I am currently applying to medical schools and I hope to get my MD/MPH and become a primary care physician.
I have tutored students as an undergraduate learning assistant in Organic Chemistry I and II for two semesters and will be tutoring students in the spring semester for Human Physiology. In addition to enjoying the physical sciences, I played the violin for eight years. I was a part of Annandale High School's Chamber Orchestra as a first violinist for two years, and was concert master for a month.
In particular, I love tutoring Biology (including immunology and physiology), as I feel that the mechanisms and concepts behind how the body works are very interesting.
When I tutor, I like to break down the learning process by starting off with focusing on the overall concept. Then, I like to fill in the details by using drawing, video/animations, discussion, and practice problems. Practice problems is a key part of how I tutor, as I feel that application is necessary to learn a concept properly.
