Hello! My name is Carrie and I am very excited to be a tutor with Varsity Tutors. I have a B.A. from the University of Delaware in Social Studies Education and a M.S. in Special Education from Saint Joseph's University. I have had many years of experience with teaching and tutoring. Generally, I feel more comfortable working with elementary-aged and middle-school aged students, however, I have also had experience tutoring high school students in algebra, reading, and writing. With younger students, I feel comfortable tutoring in every subject, but I find that my best help is in reading, writing, social studies and various math subjects.

Outside of tutoring, I have worked mainly as a nanny and also as a teacher with students with special needs in almost every age group. I worked with students with social skill needs, behavioral needs, as well as dozens of students with special education status. As a student teacher in school, I taught 8th grade U.S. History and high school life skills and social skills.

I enjoy working with children and especially enjoy getting to be with my family and my four nieces and nephews. I also love to play the piano.

I cannot wait to work with you and your child and help them to become more comfortable in subjects they may feel they need some extra help in.
