Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering degree at SUNY Stony Brook. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching with a Concentration in Mathematics degree at Quinnipiac University. I taught high school mathematics for 9 years. I tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. My favorite subject to teach is Geometry, because once I was afraid of Geometry, and now I love it. I want to show my students how not to be afraid! My tutoring style involves lots of questions. I love asking questions to pull prior knowledge out of students, to teach them to utilize the "tools in their toolbox" to solve the problem. They have the knowledge; it is my job to bring them that confidence to pick the right tools to do the job. I love being active! I love to walk, hike, and roller blade. I also like to do strength training. I am a huge football fan. I am a Patriots fan, but I like to watch any team and to see a good game. I enjoy inviting friends and family over on a Sunday to watch football.
