Certified Tutor

I'm a passionate teacher with a collaborative spirit. My main goal in a tutoring session is to help a student feel confidently equipped to be an independent worker, as well as inspired to add their own unique personalities to their work. This is why I love working with students on reading comprehension and critical writing. These can be intimidating subjects because there is no "one answer," such as there might be on a math quiz. But this is why reading and writing are so much fun! As a current PhD student in Theatre Studies at Brown University, with a Master's degree in Classics and a BA in Liberal Arts, I feel very equipped to aid in reading, writing, GRE verbal test prep, as well as literature courses. I have taught and tutored a wide range of ages, from middle school to adult learners. I also am very capable at helping to craft a thoughtful and passionate admission essay for high school juniors or seniors who are applying for colleges. I particularly enjoy this challenge because it is such a pleasure to find out what makes you unique and to highlight that for the world to see!

At this point I prefer online tutoring sessions, but I will consider occasional in person meetings as well. Looking forward to working with you!
