Certified Tutor

As a English Language Arts teacher in the high school classroom for two years, I made it my mission to engage with students in a meaningful way to enrich their learning experiences and implement plans to achieve their goals. As a high school teacher, I have prepared students for the ACT, SAT, and given assessments aligned to both college readiness exams.
I, also, tutored students at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Houston Writing Center for three years. At the Writing Center, I worked with English Language Learners, Engineer majors, and Business majors. I have led all kinds of writers through the writing process, getting them to think about the audience, purpose, and style appropriate for the writing assignments.
It is my joy to discuss all things English, language, and to generate ideas. My strengths include getting students to think from various differing angles. I enjoy working on expository, persuasive, and analytical papers, as well as, reading, speaking, and listening skills.
