Certified Tutor

My name is Suzanne, and I am a recent college graduate interested in tutoring in English, reading, and writing skills! I just graduated from Georgetown University in May, where I majored in English literature with minors in journalism and art history. I am currently working as a reporter at a politics and culture magazine in Manhattan.

I started tutoring in high school as part of the National Honor Society, regularly tutoring an underclassman in French. While at Georgetown, I joined DC Reads, an organization that sends college students to under-resourced elementary schools in Washington to tutor students in reading, writing, and grammar. As executive editor of Georgetown's student newspaper, I also set up writing training programs and worked one-on-one with freshmen to teach them how to write clear and concise newspaper articles. In that role, I also edited every article published in the newspaper, giving me extensive experience editing essays. I have also worked as a student teacher at the campus daycare and as a Sunday School teacher for pre-school students.

I am the oldest of four kids, and I have years of experience helping them with their homework -- especially in the areas where my parents found themselves a little rusty. I love to read and write, and I would hope to inspire other students of all ages to love it as well.
