I got into education because, having been a student my entire life, I know that a lot of the ways that teaching and instruction are handled are fairly poor and I wanted to do my best to fix that. By relating to learners and understanding their educational needs it's possible to serve each one in the way that works best for them to learn and retain material, while making sure that they understand and are being taught concepts, methods, and ideas rather than basic facts or answers with comparatively limited use.
