I am a highly experienced general education and special education elementary school teacher!

I have real world experience as an educator, having spent the past 12 years working as a private tutor for a high volume of students with a variety of needs. I served as a lead teacher in high needs schools with diverse populations of students, in both the general education and special education settings. I have vast experience writing high quality, Common Core aligned assessments for a literacy-based educational technology company. I was specially selected to edit assessments and provide feedback to other consultants regarding standard alignment, content accuracy, and overall quality of their work.

I believe tutoring is more than academics, but also an opportunity to empower students to recognize and use their unique talents and traits. I have had the privilege of working with very diverse populations of students, thereby honing my differentiation skills. Additionally, I am a diligent, organized, and passionate educator who understands that students learn through hands-on, engaging experiences. Because students learn by doing, I offer every learner opportunities to explore concepts and ideas in various ways. I facilitate learning by creating instruction and assessments that allow all students to demonstrate understanding.

In addition, I am a published author! I wrote a children's book which spent 4 months in the top 1% on Amazon.com's "Best Sellers Rank."
