Certified Tutor

I have been an educator for seven years. I have taught in all subject areas across all grade levels from preschool to eighth grade. I have completed two masters programs. Math, science and reading are my favorites subjects to teach. This year my goal was to become stronger with writing instruction.
I believe that teaching should be individualized based on each individual learner. If my instructional approach is not working than I change it up to meet the needs of my student. Over the years I have learned that it is important for my students to take ownership of their learning. I take the time to explain the "why" of they are being taught the material and how it will apply to their own life experiences. Learning should be meaningful, not forced. I also believe it is important and essential for my students to learn how to be organized with materials as well as how they learn and process information. I provide tools and strategies to help master these concepts.
At the end of the day it is always about the students. Every student has the right to learn something new everyday!
