I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. My goal in helping students is to help them understand the processes behind math/science concepts and techniques, rather than just aid in finding an answer. After all, mathematics is the numerical explanation of the universe (and science can be seen as applied math), and giving life and meaning to abstract concepts will do more than just earn a student a better grade. It will help them develop problem-solving skills they will need throughout their academic careers. This is why I find math (and other engineering-related fields such as physics and programming) so enjoyable; all of these subjects boil down to developing creative problem-solving skills. Even if a student isn't pursuing a STEM-related field, they can utilize these skills and apply them to other areas.
Outside of my academics, I enjoy rocketry, playing the French horn, listening to classical music, and building/fixing computers, namely.
