Certified Tutor

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mathematical Science from the University of Houston- Clear Lake in 2016. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters of Science in Mathematics at the University of Houston.

I began tutoring in 2011 at San Jacinto College. I worked there for two year helping students improve their comprehension of topics ranging from pre-algebra through various upper level math courses. After leaving San Jacinto, I continued tutoring at the University of Houston- Clear Lake's Math Center. At both institutions, I assisted professors inside and out of the classroom. During classes, I acted as an in-class aid refining students' understanding and retention of lecture material. I also led my own supplemental instruction sessions for several courses where my students' cognizance was heightened and reinforced. Since then, I have engaged in more private instruction because I feel that my students benefit more from focused and individualized sessions. Ive helped students of all ages build confidence in their mathematical ability.

I am truly passionate about helping others understand and enjoy math. By engaging my students in ways that make them consider and search for alternative problem solving methods, they are compelled to become more independent learners. I stress apprehension over memorization due to my belief that a thorough insight of underlying principles increases retention. I am eager to guide you to an improved comprehension and a renewed appreciation of math.
