How would you help a student stay motivated?
I'd show some different pictures, share some different cultures, or find some new topics that we can share.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
The first thing is understanding, if the student get confused, we can jump from the rule and talk about something else to help the student relax, and then continue our study.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introduce ourselves.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I'd give the student some homework and check it.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Finding a new topic that we are both interested in.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
I'd show the interesting aspects of the culture to help the student to understand better.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
I'd give the student some easy problems to help him build confidence.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
I'd talk with the student.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
It depends on the student. Breaks can be earned through hard work.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
Books and music. I am their tour guide.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
I will read one by one with them and help him realize what does it mean.
