Ryan: Albany County tutor
Certified Tutor
I believe in learning as a lifelong process; that science should be taught as more a passion than a chore; and knowledge is the most valuable possession a person can have.
I would like to help other people come to these realizations as well.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Using visual aids and tools to simplify complex topics. Using real-life applications of science to build interest and understanding of abstract concepts. Teach through demonstration, and then allow students to try and repeat until they reach mastery.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Have them bring in some assignments which give them trouble and go over those topics. Introductions. Find out what interests the student has, and help apply those to the subject. Go over homework questions they might have.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Try to get the student interested in a subject by linking what they are personally interested in to the subjects they are studying. Try to get them to read or use media that would help them learn and boost interests.
