Here's something you don't read everday: Math is a very beautiful and straightforward subject. Of course, it's not always that a student can learn a particular topic the first time they learn about it. That's where I come in.
As a teacher, I provide a method of teaching providing best fit explanations of problems and solutions that conveys a picture of the scenario. An example of an approach is to ask you, the student, to walk me through how you did the problem up to the point where you become stuck. Even if you haven't started or made progress on an item, having you explain to me how to approach the problem allows me to see how I can start helping. If the problem is a bit too difficult for you to describe, I'll try my best to make sure you what you need to understand in order to carry on with similar problems come test time.
I have been tutoring formally since October of 2011. Since then I have tutored an array of people, including UW students, Seattle public high school students in both public and alternative schools, and working professionals.
Teaching is a skill that I look to enhance every day, in and out of the classroom. When I was 16, in 2008, I made an instructional video visually showing how to change your default media player to any media player software you want to use, such as VLC, which is a light, RAM considerate alternative to the Windows default Windows Media Player. Even before I knew I wanted to be a teacher, I was teaching.
I'm comfortable tutoring algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, physics, business math, and anything subject involving these subject areas.
