What is your teaching philosophy?

Everyone learns differently. I like to get to know my students, so I know how to approach them. Some need a structured environment, while others do better with brainstorming.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would take a look at study materials and see what the student's immediate needs are. I would then assign an initial short essay to ascertain the student's skill level.
