I have two master's degrees, one in literature and the other in journalism. I have taught German to English-speaking students, English to German speakers and English literacy to English speakers. I also have broad experience as a mentor. I enjoy the interaction that comes with teaching and tutoring and love to see people become more effective in their everyday lives as a result of our sessions.
During my off hours I enjoy reading, making jewelry and walking for exercise.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I approach teaching with empathy. I put myself in the student's shoes and ask myself, "What would or wouldn't I know if I were this person?" This helps me to avoid starting with incorrect assumptions. It's important to meet students where they are and stay on an equal footing with them.
