I am a recent graduate in geology with a passion for education. Throughout my undergraduate career, I taught environmental science to high school students, and fell in love with the creativity and energy required as a teacher. I am passionate about inclusive teaching practices, and am committed to implementing effective and engaging learning methods. As excited as I am to tutor and teach students, I believe that the tutor-student relationship is two-way and I look forward to working with and learning from students as well.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In the first session, I like to take time to get to know students. I think that it is important to understand the student's' strengths and interests and incorporate these into personalized tutoring sessions. In addition, the first session is an ideal time to lay out the goals and expectations of tutoring sessions.
