What is your teaching philosophy?

My goal is to help students discover the pleasures of reading and re-reading. I promise students that delight increases with discernment and that what they learn will also transform their reading experiences beyond the assigned texts. I also stress the practical side of English; good writing is a vital life skill that helps students succeed in coursework across all disciplines and that they carry with them into their internships and careers.
