Sharing my knowledge and passion through an interactive exchange - I love to learn things from my clients too!

First establish some basic level of companionship - understand what methods of delivery might be more effective for the student's receptivity.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Providing students with tools that they can then refer to and develop self-study habits will enable independent learning.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Offering ideas on what the student will be able to achieve as a result of finishing a course successfully.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would endeavor to find new delivery methods to help students relate in a different way to the proposed concept or skill.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Reviewing grammatical context, alphabetic principles and phonemics may help in overall reading comprehension.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Finding something the student is passionate about to mirror a real-life scenario where the subject would be necessary to learn.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

Letting the student first review what they already know helps reinforce they are capable learners.

How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?

Choosing a style of teaching that is met with more enthusiasm or results - such as visual stimulation or logic-based problems, etc.
