Certified Tutor

I am a 2016 graduate of the University of Southern California. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Spanish and am currently in the process of applying to graduate schools to pursue a Masters degree in Education and my teaching credential. Because I have such a passion for teaching, throughout college I sought out as many opportunities as possible to support students in their learning and development. In the beginning of college, I volunteered as a teaching assistant in elementary and middle schools around USC and worked for CollegeSpring, an organization that provides SAT tutoring to socio-economically disadvantaged students for free. I tutored SAT test preparation and also mentored students about the college admissions process and their career goals. Since then, I have been serving as a private in-home tutor for students at USC and around Los Angeles. More recently, I founded and led programs at USC to advocate for educational justice for local students and empower my fellow USC students to become more involved in our local communitys education system.
I have tutored all subjects, but I am most passionate about Math, Social Studies, Spanish, and SAT/College Prep. My favorite part about tutoring is being able to get creative about my lessons so that I can captivate and empower every student in their learning and help them achieve success. I love spending that extra time to rethink and reframe material in a new and exciting way so that I can meet my student where they are and get them to the place where they strive to be. I think its incredibly rewarding to have the opportunity to impact a students life in such a direct and profound way, and I feel so honored to be able to share my talents and passions with my students and support them in all their endeavors!
