Certified Tutor
For nearly twenty years, Ive gained great satisfaction from tutoring. Its extremely rewarding and a lot of fun - to work one-on-one with an individual and watch the incremental progress, as he/she masters the material were working on. Initially, I was hired by Kaplan Institute to teach ACT & SAT prep courses. I originally viewed tutoring as a part-time job to help finance graduate school, but I soon branched out into tutoring on my own and have enjoyed it so much that I have continued long into my college teaching career, which also spans more than fifteen years.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Tutoring is about people as much as it is about the subject matter. The most important consideration in is providing an efficient and pleasant opportunity to learn. That really comes down to providing relevant information in a caring, patient, understandable, and interesting manner. It's a lot easier to learn - and to tutor -- if both of the participants are smiling.
