I first discovered my love for teaching when I was a Teaching Assistant during college. I love working one-on-one with students in efforts to help them gain a better understanding of the subjects they would like to master. I believe each and every student has unique learning requirements and I strive to meet these needs by modifying my teaching method in order to best benefit my student. I am very patient and I always like to ensure that my student is progressing and excelling with each session. I am currently a medical student so I have a deep compassion for caring for and helping people. This passion also applies to my interest in tutoring.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in catering to my student's learning needs by finding out their learning style and modifying my teaching method to best benefit the student.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I like to first set goals for each session. I want the student to express what he/she would like to accomplish before the end of each session. In addition, I like to set up a learning schedule so that further sessions may have structure that can facilitate better progression.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I would like to help the student discover what kind of learner they are. This way, they can plan their study sessions according to the method that best facilitates their learning.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I like to tackle a difficult subject by trying a few different tactics in order to discover which teaching method was most effective for the student. Then I like to solidify their knowledge of the subject with practice.
