I have had over seven years experience working as a tutor. I have mentored students from Kindergarten to 10th graders, as well. I love helping students unlock their full potential in order to help them grow as leaders. I have worked with high school students through Americorps, as well as elementary students at a charter school. In addition, I was a program director for the Boys and Girls Club. It is important to communicate with students to help them figure out what their strengths are and in that process, find out how to relate school to things they enjoy. This will allow the students to broaden their skill set.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in meeting students where they are at, and building them up from there.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get a baseline, find out what things they know, and which things they want to know.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Congratulate them on their progress so far, but encourage them to keep making strides.
