Certified Tutor
I am a fourth year medical student at Case Western Reserve University and will be starting my surgical training in 2020 at NYU. I graduated from Skidmore College in 2014 with a BA in Biology and a Music Minor (violin). I tutored extensively from 2014-2016 while working in Boston, MA as a research coordinator and I am comfortable teaching MCAT and STEP 1 board exam material. I believe that every student has the potential to achieve their goals and I look forward to making this process rewarding, exciting and fun!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I think that students learn best when they are excited by the subject material. I strive to engage my students by breaking down complex conceptual concepts into components that can be easily understood and by providing real world examples of how knowledge in a given subject can be useful.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session, I would try to identify the goals that the student has so we can outline a plan to successfully reach them. I would ask some questions to identify what general interests the student has and what their learning style is like. I would then present material and work through practice problems to allow the student to build confidence in that subject area.
