Having come from a family of scientists, I have always appreciated the questions more than the answers. We keep asking "why?" until the point of ignorance is achieved- this is the moment when science really begins and it is what makes us ponder the possibilities. This fascination is why I have chosen biology for my career. As I begin the final semester in obtaining my Master's degree at Chico State in molecular and micro biology, I reflect on what has made me happy in my journeys.

Playing in a band (Model A) in Sacramento was great fun and I will be playing shows again shortly. I play piano, guitar and drums. All kinds of art have been an integral component of my life, especially clay molding. My projects for the upcoming year are to mold chess pieces and cast them with silver and bronze. I also enjoy gold prospecting in the mountains and snowboarding. Living back in Sacramento will be a dream; but first.
