Certified Tutor

At the University of Arizona, I received my bachelor of science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics and my doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of biology and biochemistry, and I can also tutor chemistry as well.

I have one year of chemistry tutoring experience at the University of Arizona. I have worked with instructors, graded exams, assignments, and lab reports. I bring an understanding of what professors want to emphasize and test, and what exam graders look for.

I have been a teaching assistant at the University of Arizona for 5 years. The courses I taught include Introductory Biology (Bio 181), General Chemistry (151 and 152), Metabolic Biochemistry 462b, Nucleic Acid Biochemistry for Majors (Bioc 466) among other molecular biology and biochemistry courses.

In my free time, I run, play sand volleyball, read, and catch up with the news.

It doesn't matter if you're not a lover of biochemistry, biology, or chemistry, I can help YOU to find the easy way to explore and become familiar with the science world

What is your teaching philosophy?

Guided Inquiry. I like to guide students with hints and lead them through working out problems on their own.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Get to know them. Go over course syllabus, previous exams, and homework assignments. Try to understand what a student does well and what she/he needs improvement on.
