I have a master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong background in Math, Science and love for teaching. Chinese is my first language and I speak perfect Mandarin without any accent. I have experience tutoring students of all ages(K-college) in Math and Mandarin. I love watching my students grow and build confidence. My goal is to help my students get motivated to study and improve their problem-solving skills.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would identify the difficulty and determine whether or not we need to review again or take a fresh approach to the concept to be learned. I teach the student using different skills that he learned easily.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
For the first session, I will take time to talk to my student and make them feel comfortable. I also work with my students to identify their learning level and set a study plan based on their goals.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Set goals. Be sure they are realistic and achievable. Make them small to start. Establish rewards for progress toward their goals. Use the power of positive thinking, and help them build confidence and believe in themselves.
