What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe in understanding the learning needs of individual students, because every student is different. Then work with them accordingly. I try to encourage my students a lot if they do anything correctly. I take great pride in my students.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

First explaining the concept and helping them do a few questions. Then I have them do it on their own. I just watch them even if they do it wrong; I don't interrupt them. When they are done, I explain them where they went wrong.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

By appreciating all the good work that they do.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Try to work in different ways that can help them understand.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

I would go slowly.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Being patient and working out ways that can help the student understand.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Encourage them by appreciating them, having fun talking, asking about their school and ultimately saying the stuff is easy.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

Practice and more problem solving.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

By appreciating his/her good work.

How do you evaluate a student's needs?

After working with the student once I ask them questions, based on which I assess how I have to work.

How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?

Some students are fast to understand, so I go fast with them, and some need help with the basics, so I work accordingly.

What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?

The student’s workbook, assignments or sometimes books from the library.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I ask them what topics they would like to study and then make them do an easy question, or just ask them some related questions to assess what and how should I be working.
