Certified Tutor
I am a current medical student in NYC.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Cornell University.
After tutoring at the college level for over four years, I have truly come to appreciate seeing my students excel in math and biology courses that they once thought were challenging and insurmountable. I believe that performing well in math and science is about learning how to study the right way for the specific subjects. I understand that each individual should use tools specific to their learning style. I am passionate about making my students see that they are capable of doing well in their classes. I look forward to instilling self-confidence in their coursework.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring my local city, traveling and practicing yoga.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
I point out when I see that they have made improvements from our last session. I also congratulate them when they do well on work that they do with me or in their actual classes.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
I like to use lots of examples, and I have students explain the material in their own words so that I can confirm that they truly understand. I also like to use visuals like pictures, graphs, and/or videos to reinforce concepts.
