A constant thirst for knowledge and understanding of Science, Health Sciences in particular led me to complete an honors degree in Medicine. And I must say it wasn't easy, but I believe when you love something and carry a strong passion for it, you will go an extra mile for that. That's the exact thought which I tend to apply in my Teaching career and hope to pursue Medical Practice in the future. Whether it is one's personal life relationships to academics, sports, business etc., in fact anything which an individual enjoys doing with a passion to strive to be better and better will eventually taste the fruit of success.
At the age of 5, I moved to the Middle-East with my family and acquired my high school diploma there. In 2008 we immigrated to the United States, and it was totally a different exciting and wonderful world. In the beginning it was tough which was acceptable as we weren't the only ones, I started working as a part time customer service agent and a couple of different jobs to sponsor myself in college and started working on my applications. In late 2009, I went back to my home country to start my medical education but unfortunately couldn't get in to any desired medical school. After the disappointment when my bags were packed to fly back to the US, I received a call from a Doctor advising to get admission in a medical school in China, which is affordable and the course duration is 5.5 years in a well reputed University. Without any second thought, I was ready to detour and make full use of this exciting opportunity. And now here I am after 6 years from that day, a Better, Broad Prospective mind set, and multi-cultural exposed Doctor.
Growing in a family acquainted with Academia ignited the light of teaching in me. Looking at my father who is a professor and my mother a High School Science teacher, I always had this intuition to try to follow their path one day and it was one day during the 2nd year of medical school when my best friend told me try tutoring the freshman and counseling them on how to survive the first year of Med school, because according to him I possess convincing powers and speech is easy to understand. That was it, me and my friend spread the word and arranged a small session of an hour in an empty dorm room with strength of 10 freshmen. Soon after that when I was my third year, I was approached by a couple of students in the library requesting to teach them Physiology and this quick satisfying 25 minutes in the library where I was able to clear the concepts in Heart physiology to the three students made me realize that may be I have inherited the art of teaching from my folks. Later that year during the spring break there was an opening for an ESL tutor for high school Chinese students in a private coaching center, I successfully attained that position by just one trial class and by then I was sure I can be a good teacher.
I believe very much in Brad Henry's motto: " A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning." I strive to create a constructive atmosphere by praising students while encouraging positive learning behaviors. This approach has proven to be encouraging for my students so far, and keeps their interest in learning the topic strong. Through the use of different teaching styles and learning strategies that motivate, all learners have the opportunity to excel in areas of education. Forward thinking styles and adaptability will challenge all children to achieve.
My interests outside my studies include involvement in a range of sports, including swimming, badminton and running. Second only to sport is my enjoyment of anything automotive based, with the daily grind I try catching up with the evolving automobile technology. Current affairs also make up a part of my interests.
