Certified Tutor
Meeting educational goals can be challenging. Attaining said goals should also be a positive and rewarding process. I work with students to identify academic challenges and learn about strengths in order to tailor tutoring to each student's needs. I believe that it is most beneficial to capitalize on strengths and transform learning and studying from chores to enjoyable activities. Moreover, I strive to introduce you to a variety of skills, techniques, and ways of approaching schoolwork and test preparation to help you find what works best for you so that you can apply them both in our work together, and in the long term throughout your education.
I hold a bachelor's degrees in education studies and psychology, and am currently pursuing graduate school in psychology. I enjoy working with students of all ages and look forward to working with you to help you attain your educational goals!

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a first session, I feel that it is important to get to know you, and find out more about your learning style, strengths and challenges. I also want to understand what you are hoping to get out of tutoring so that we can begin to tackle challenging areas right away.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I am constantly working toward helping you to become an independent learner by helping you to identify learning and study skills that work most naturally for you. As we work together, I gradually push you to work through steps of a question independently, more and more with each question, as you build your knowledge base and study toolkit.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Schoolwork should be fun! I help you stay motivated by staying aware of your goals and by relating the material to your interests wherever we can.
