What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that no two students are the same. As a result, I work hard to tailor tutoring session around each student's learning habits and needs to ensure our time together is utilized to the highest level of efficiency.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

The benefit of one-on-one tutoring sessions is-- rather than me talking at you, we can have a conversation about the subjects you're learning. We will work together at your own pace, with proven techniques, so that your learning doesn't stop with our meeting. Instead, you will develop the learning skills needed to be successful, both in school and in life.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Growing up, I never understood how important learning is because I thought it was boring. What I later came to realize was that it wasn't what I studied, but how I studied that bored me. Learning doesn't have to be that way to keep students motivated. I ensure my sessions are creative and spark an interest in the subjects we cover.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Everyone learns at their own pace and responds better to different styles of learning. To assist a student struggling with a difficult concept, I would slow the session down and change how I explain the concept. In doing so, we can help discover the best way to ensure the student feels confident about the subjects that trouble them.
