Crystal: Beach Park tutor
Certified Tutor
I went to undergrad at William and Mary and am currently wrapping up my MBA from Wharton. I love tutoring and helping people master challenging subjects and becoming confident in their abilities. My primary subject areas are K-9 Math, Algebra, Microeconomics and Test Prep (SAT, GMAT, GRE). I have also worked with the admissions office in undergrad and at Wharton as well and can provide coaching on college and graduate school essay writing. I take a very hands on approach to tutoring and will work with you to craft a tailored plan and get you on the path to achieving your goals. I'm great at breaking down complex ideas into simple concepts that will help you better recall and learn the material.
Outside of tutoring, I love to cook. What started off as a New Years resolution has quickly become an obsession and most evenings you can find me in my kitchen experimenting with new dishes. I also enjoy yoga, the outdoors and exploring Philadelphia's food scene!

What is your teaching philosophy?
The ultimate goal of a teacher is to motivate, empower and inspire. If I can help you get excited about the learning process - that's a job well done.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get to know the student and their background and share a bit of my own. I also want to understand the student's underlying learning goals and what they want to achieve as a result of tutoring.
