Certified Tutor

I will be matriculating at Williams College in the fall where I plan to major in English. I have had several experiences in tutoring ranging from volunteer tutoring for underprivileged children to tutoring many of my peers in standardized testing to leading an English class for students at a Chinese university. While most of my experience in tutoring comes in standardized test preparation and English composition and literature, I also have a great interest in mathematics and have experience in teaching it as well. Though I tutor in a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about English, literature, and history. My approach to tutoring stresses deeper understanding of topics and underlying concepts, as opposed to learning just to pass test questions. I further believe in teaching towards individual student's learning styles and adapting towards individual needs so as to maximize progress and learning. Outside of academics, in my free time, I enjoy watching movies, playing soccer, reading books, and playing video games.
